Garbsen, Germany November 2005 – LPKF Laser & Electronics introduced a new, very compact transmission laser welding system with a convenient rotary index table for material transport. The stand-alone system creates highly reliable weld joints and represents the latest addition to LPKF’s family of laser systems for plastic welding.
 
The incorporated technology can provide significant advantages over conventional plastic joining and fastening techniques. It avoids all joining related stress and prevents damage to the electronic components embedded in the housing. Laser welding produces less flesh and creates tight welds of superior quality without any particulate. Real-time process monitoring allows for superior process reliability. Laser technology produces weld joints with minimal space requirements and is especially attractive when joining housings or enclosures for sensor and control modules in automotive, medical and aerospace applications.
