Erlangen, Germany, March, 13th 2007 – The Plastic Welding Division of LPKF Laser & Electronics AG has established an Applications Center for laser welding tests with plastic parts in the United States. Laser welding of plastics is increasingly finding its way into industrial manufacturing all over the world. Influencing the decision to open an additional Application Center outside of Germany.
 
The range of supplies in the new Application Center, located in Wilsonville, Oregon will be able to assist in the selection of part design and material, evaluate and process the development through to completion of the finished prototype. Engineers in America will now have the opportunity to experience the advantages of laser plastic welding on their custom parts with the help from an LPKF laser plastic welding specialists.

The Application Center extends over more than 1,000 sq. ft. Once, inside the customers will find a high-capacity laser welding system and an equipped laboratory with numerous analysis and test systems.

The Plastics Welding Division of LPKF Laser & Electronics AG is focused on development, production, and the worldwide distribution of systems for laser plastics welding. Applications for laser plastics welding are found in such industries as automotive, medical, and the consumer electronics.
