LPKF AG’s Plastics Welding Division presents at this year’s K fair (24 to 31 October) in Düsseldorf, the world premiere of the first fully hybrid welded tail light. The method combines laser light with infrared radiation, and is primarily designed for the economical welding of large plastic components. Because of their extremely complex geometries, it was not previously possible to weld such assemblies using conventional laser plastic welding techniques. The breakthrough was made by LPKF’s patented hybrid welding method.
In addition to this world’s first, our stand (Booth No. 11E04 in hall 11) will also showcase the world’s longest 3D laser welded seam (length: 9.5 m) and the longest microfluidic-tight weld (length: 2 m). The company will also be presenting the latest engineering trends and developments.
These applications again underline LPKF’s technological leadership in laser plastics welding.
The Plastics Welding Division of LPKF Laser & Electronics AG develops, produces and distributes equipment worldwide for laser plastics welding. Welding seams using laser plastic welding techniques is gaining ground around the world. Applications for this technology are found in sectors including automotive, medical technology and consumer goods.
