LPKF with optimized systems at Fakuma 2009

06/Aug/2009
Continuous development in laser plastic welding
LPKF with optimized systems at Fakuma 2009
The answer to the crisis is innovation: LPKF Laser & Electronics AG (LPKF) simultaneously presents three important new developments at Fakuma 2009. LPKF showcases the latest trends in technology in Hall A4/Stand 4122, as well as a broad spectrum of systems and solutions for laser plastic welding.

Erlangen, August 5th 2009: At this year's Fakuma in Friedrichhafen, LPKF will unveil a flexible and compact laser welding machine: the LQ-Vario RT. Loading the system is now more effective with the addition of an integrated rotary table. Loading robots can also be used if required. This further enhances the economic efficiency of this system which has been specially designed for processing small and medium production series.
After the inaugural presentation of the LQ-Spot laser staking system in the spring, LPKF showcases an important new advancement which is available after Fakuma: it now features a reliable integrated feeding system. This technology feeds the riveting materials directly into the process, so that no more movement of the head is necessary. The patented laser staking system has many advantages for fastening metal components and printed circuit boards within plastic housings.
The LQ-Hybrid is a hybrid welding system that has already passed its first mass production test with flying colors: it was used to manufacture high quality tail lights for the automobile industry. The latest version will be showcased at Fakuma. An enhanced, compact welding head combines the focussing optics and the secondary emissions source in to one housing. This modified layout enables the use of lamps with extremely long service lives – with the added benefit of a considerable reduction in maintenance work. The machine footprint has also been significantly reduced with the addition of a space-saving robot.
